0:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes a world looks like you ain't ever seen it before Just be how never ended with those All you need is a door Searching for something to put a smile back on your face Just remembering unusual times I can come from one unusual place [SPEAKER_01]: I need a partner for a ride Cause everybody needs a ride Such a bird is to the side Just ask See the word and I'll be there Just ask [SPEAKER_01]: I know the greatest things in the life I'll come in a pair They say hindsight's 20, 20 That ain't far enough behind me So we can walk this sweetest honey I think hindsight's 19, 19 Isn't me to pretend I got a hand I can land Who's like you really need a friend Just ask [SPEAKER_01]: Shit 90's shows dot me!
1:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Shit 90's shows dot me was not filmed before live studio audience. [SPEAKER_02]: are you ready to slay another day? [SPEAKER_02]: So are we? [SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to shit. [SPEAKER_02]: I need to talk me. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just darling here with my co-host Sarah Humphrey. [SPEAKER_02]: Sarah, how are you? [SPEAKER_03]: Just kind of doing really well today. [SPEAKER_03]: Just got a pep talk from Buffy. [SPEAKER_03]: She basically roasted me for an hour and a half and told me that was useless and worthless. [SPEAKER_03]: Which [SPEAKER_03]: kind of agree with, but it's fine. [SPEAKER_03]: Not only, I know, but it's like the way she said it. [SPEAKER_03]: It's weird, but I don't care. [SPEAKER_03]: Like she is spinning shirts. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, I've been saying this about the Scoobies for so long and I'm so happy somebody actually said it out loud.
2:11 [SPEAKER_03]: Like you all are stupid idiots. [SPEAKER_03]: You are a waste of space. [SPEAKER_03]: And that is that. [SPEAKER_03]: She is just, [SPEAKER_03]: getting facts. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, little rough to say the person who just ended their own life is an idiot and stupid. [SPEAKER_03]: But she was literally a maggot and number one, it's not my problem because it's it's I do not. [SPEAKER_03]: Call her a maggot and make her go into a depression. [SPEAKER_03]: Kennedy did. [SPEAKER_03]: That he did. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, blood is on Kennedy, not me. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, that's where and also also, um, it's not her fault that Miranda had to spin off to go on Lizzy McGuire had to be this had to be before.
2:59 [SPEAKER_03]: after Oh, it's fire had to be. [SPEAKER_02]: No, it was before Lizzy McGuire. [SPEAKER_02]: No way. [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's way. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll allow. [SPEAKER_02]: Let me see. [SPEAKER_02]: This episode aired February 18, 2003 Lizzy McGuire. [SPEAKER_03]: I was 2001, I was going to say just now, I was not in merely in high school watching Lizzie Guire. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, maybe I was, but no, absolutely not. [SPEAKER_03]: Lizzie, Lizzie was. [SPEAKER_03]: feel like Lizzy was at the same age as me when I was washing it. [SPEAKER_02]: Interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember. [SPEAKER_02]: Middle school and it was like not as long ago. [SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, we're covering Buffy season 7 episode 15.
3:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Get it done. [SPEAKER_02]: We're dropping lore all over the place this episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Woo! [SPEAKER_02]: We dropped lore. [SPEAKER_02]: We've dropped some more lore. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, lore. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you best be paying attention real good this episode or else you're going to be lost and I still might be lost or I have a good concept because sometimes even though I say I don't listen or understand the war. [SPEAKER_03]: I think I pick it up a little bit easier or a little bit more than I give myself credit for your problem was always when jiles told the lore that you would fall asleep and jiles wasn't anywhere to be seen this episode. [SPEAKER_02]: So is the. [SPEAKER_02]: a busy man. [SPEAKER_02]: He is a busy man. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I want to start by talking about onions bike because it's like a very small part of the episode.
4:28 [SPEAKER_02]: Um, [SPEAKER_02]: This is so strange. [SPEAKER_02]: So, onus like, hey, Spike, you're going out. [SPEAKER_02]: You're getting drinkies. [SPEAKER_02]: I would love to get some drinkies with you. [SPEAKER_02]: On my hate being human, it sucks. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I can't stand living. [SPEAKER_02]: It's later central anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: There's girls everywhere. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like 30 girls living in this house at this point. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, truly, it's like a summer camp. [SPEAKER_03]: I did like that she said that she wants to go the health department on on that night. [SPEAKER_03]: it is a lot girls and be later on we do see that they've like multiplied even more so much so that we don't even know like any of their names any more we only know yeah so it is a problem gosh they really need to get a guest house or some other accommodations I know that but these house is the safe house but it is just too many people in one house [SPEAKER_02]: So there are like two bathrooms, like how are we, how are we regimenting the shower situation?
5:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I mean, there's no way. [SPEAKER_02]: Like the electricity bill is through the roof. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's crazy. [SPEAKER_03]: Electricity, the water bill, it's a problem. [SPEAKER_03]: So they're just complaining. [SPEAKER_03]: Onions like lamenting why in the world, when I become a human again, onions from my recollection, it was not your choice. [SPEAKER_02]: either she was that or die I think. [SPEAKER_03]: No, it was her choice because she could have, well, she could have, she said that she wanted, no, I don't think so. [SPEAKER_03]: She was, she like, killed the whole fraternity house, then she felt bad about it and she was like, I, I want to end my life and he said because he's like, well, like, we have to like, [SPEAKER_03]: kill for tat.
6:19 [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And she's she's like, I want to end my life. [SPEAKER_03]: And he said, no, you're loser. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to end your besties life. [SPEAKER_03]: And then by the way, I don't want you on my team anymore. [SPEAKER_03]: So here's being a human. [SPEAKER_03]: So she said, I want to die instead of killing all these fraternity bros, which by the way, might be a choice because [SPEAKER_03]: If these boys or anything like those Cornell boys, maybe, and they were, and they were kill them all anyway. [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, she put guilty about it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't her choice to become a human either time, either time. [SPEAKER_02]: So she's human and her life sucks. [SPEAKER_02]: She's living in everyone's version of hell, which is living with like 30 other women.
7:00 [SPEAKER_02]: And so she is like, you know why? [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'll go out with Spike here and she's like, oh, you know, I first thought it was a date and then she keeps joking about them having sex. [SPEAKER_02]: And Spike is like a very uncomfortable conversation. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, would you let it go? [SPEAKER_02]: You're like a dog with a bone and it's my bone, just drop it. [SPEAKER_02]: Like he is not interested. [SPEAKER_02]: And I, I was at least happy. [SPEAKER_02]: that we had on your thinking of having sex with anyone else beside Sander. [SPEAKER_02]: So I was happy that we got that. [SPEAKER_02]: And it did very much, I understood when she was like, woman has needs.
7:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm in a, I'm in a right here. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I basically can't leave the house. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm under locking key. [SPEAKER_02]: They're all the time. [SPEAKER_02]: And I got to get some. [SPEAKER_02]: And you're one of the [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe one of the only options that she has because the other options are Zander, obviously, we're not going there right now. [SPEAKER_03]: And Drew, who is actually his guy. [SPEAKER_03]: So I guess I guess not Andrew. [SPEAKER_02]: Friends for the blood, he's around now. [SPEAKER_03]: Sure. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but he's kind of focused on spike. [SPEAKER_03]: So, again, that was her her option. [SPEAKER_03]: He said, you know, I understand.
8:23 [SPEAKER_03]: I also, she said, hey, like if you're into it, I'm into it. [SPEAKER_03]: And he said, I'm not into it. [SPEAKER_03]: And that was that. [SPEAKER_03]: And then a demon attacked because back to the Hoffman, who [SPEAKER_03]: You know, we spoke about earlier is still even though he said you live, he's also like you die. [SPEAKER_03]: So he is leader of the vengeance demons. [SPEAKER_03]: He's sour. [SPEAKER_03]: He's sour. [SPEAKER_03]: He's a little petty betty, you know. [SPEAKER_03]: can like go of being a petty petty exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: So he's like even though I thought that you can live you die. [SPEAKER_03]: So he keeps sending these people after these people these demons after her. [SPEAKER_03]: And he spike beats him up.
9:05 [SPEAKER_03]: It does not kill this demon, which they were kind of arguing about later. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But also it's like side like one mistake and this thing takes out spike and then immediately kills on you like yeah He's correct for just getting out of that situation with both of their lives intact. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, yeah, so yeah [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was kind of a spike in on your story. [SPEAKER_02]: I just thought it was a fun little little side quest moment. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's nice to see Spikes' conscience his soul coming into play. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I old spike without a soul would have said sex to sex and I will have sex with you and I don't [SPEAKER_03]: you know, my feeling is towards Buffy or anything like that.
10:01 [SPEAKER_03]: So he is indeed seemingly a changed man. [SPEAKER_03]: So so we are as silly as he. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, good stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: We also have principal wood getting a grand tour and introduction to all the different Scoobies. [SPEAKER_02]: Basically, Hammond Buffie or chatting about how like there's a little bit of a bit of chaos at school, people are acting up. [SPEAKER_02]: I loved how self-referential they were with Buffie saying like, oh, the Helmouth has begun its semi-annual percolation, usually it's around May, which is like always a finale. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, which is a little early this year. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it's also kind of reminds me of like Harry Potter.
10:44 [SPEAKER_03]: She's like, oh, like, Voldemort, like, let everybody leave. [SPEAKER_03]: But once he's like, he had a huge issue with final exams. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, find a fuck you final exams. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to start my mayhem at the end of the year every year. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Helmoth be popping off around May every year. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a little early now. [SPEAKER_02]: And so, principal, what is like, oh, beat he does. [SPEAKER_02]: I have this little baggy here that I kind of sort of was supposed to keep in the line of successions, layer to layer all the way down to you. [SPEAKER_02]: But I kept it for all these years. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, like this really important bag that would explain a lot of things about why a slayer is a slayer or where they come from, where like the history, I was just keeping it under my bed or in a closet.
11:37 [SPEAKER_03]: with my, you know, he has a lot of cats as we've talked about. [SPEAKER_03]: So like the cats kind of lived in the bag. [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, he's like, I thought that maybe you would like it just because it might help you save the world. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, maybe give it back to me after you're done with it because this was my special bag. [SPEAKER_02]: The heirloom. [SPEAKER_02]: The situation is so funny to me that he, [SPEAKER_02]: when she's like, oh, what's in it? [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, ah, it has something to do with her power. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: He had this bag for her, his mom died in the 70s, right? [SPEAKER_02]: We said, so he's had this bag for 30 years and never looked inside, like my guy.
12:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Like, this, he's been fighting off demons this whole time. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, never, no, curious. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I could never. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what are you doing, actually? [SPEAKER_02]: Like the one thing you have left of your mom and her slayerness and you're not going to take a look whatever guy we got to be we got to be a little bit curious. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't totally believe him. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think that he [SPEAKER_03]: He had to take a peek. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he was able to open up the box even though. [SPEAKER_02]: But because the box had a lock on it, he doesn't have the super slater strength. [SPEAKER_02]: But he could have looked at everything else. [SPEAKER_03]: He literally said that he did not look. [SPEAKER_03]: He didn't peek in the bag. [SPEAKER_03]: It seems like why I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: When she asked, what's in it, he's a... Stuff.
13:00 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, things, things, a hairbrush, absolutely ridiculous. [SPEAKER_02]: A diary. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a whole ass being that fucking book in there. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you, it's like the secrets of the world. [SPEAKER_03]: And like, he didn't look at it at all. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you what this is. [SPEAKER_03]: This is a classic, like, [SPEAKER_03]: husband, boyfriend, man, behavior. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, oh, he comes to me as behavior. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, comes to me. [SPEAKER_03]: Goes, oh, so and so is gang in divorce. [SPEAKER_03]: Then the follow-up questions. [SPEAKER_03]: What happens? [SPEAKER_03]: Like, who broke a booze? [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, who's nothing. [SPEAKER_03]: What do you mean? [SPEAKER_03]: You spent the last like five hours with this person playing golf on a like, [SPEAKER_03]: We were just like, oh, yeah, and this is like, it's just so typical.
13:47 [SPEAKER_03]: It's just like, oh, there's a bag. [SPEAKER_03]: But what's in the bag? [SPEAKER_03]: Why would you have me that? [SPEAKER_02]: It was in the 30 years. [SPEAKER_02]: You've had it for 30 years and you never once looked so inferior to me. [SPEAKER_02]: It is the best thing of when you ask a guy what they're thinking about and they say nothing. [SPEAKER_02]: No, we're thinking of fucking nothing the whole time. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's usually with my in with my husband is for sports. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's what it is. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's just like I have on us with you if I asked Adam what was in the bag. [SPEAKER_03]: He would say I don't know like I don't know like It is crazy because he probably did look in the bag and like forgot about it because it wasn't something a rubble relevance to him.
14:32 [SPEAKER_03]: It's like, I don't know like just crazy [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_02]: So either way, she's like, okay, well, mine as well, show you Slayer Central. [SPEAKER_02]: So come on in, you bite some inside. [SPEAKER_02]: They immediately meet Andrew who's making a final cake. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, okay, he was like, I want to go because he's looking for Spike. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I want to see you work. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: See, I want to see where you work. [SPEAKER_03]: She goes right here. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's my pencils. [SPEAKER_03]: He goes, no, where you really work. [SPEAKER_03]: So he push himself in. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not [SPEAKER_03]: essentially. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not like he wanted to, I mean, he might have been like, I want to do set Slayer Central, but he really wants to know, I want to know where the vampire is.
15:13 [SPEAKER_03]: He's I got to know. [SPEAKER_02]: I got to check out the digs. [SPEAKER_02]: I got to see where I can enter in to kill him. [SPEAKER_02]: really got to assess the situation. [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, the first thing that happens is they meet Andrew who calls himself instead of a hostage. [SPEAKER_02]: He calls himself a guestage. [SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to make fun of cake and maybe not succeeding. [SPEAKER_02]: He also has taken it upon himself to create what he deems a big board, which is a white board to, it's kind of like a murder board essentially, a side-scale. [SPEAKER_02]: But the problem is that it really needs nothing to glean [SPEAKER_02]: I have officially adopted Andrew, I knew you love him, I knew you'd love him, I knew, I knew the funnel cake storyline was going to get suck you right in and I'm wearing those stupid ice oven mitts.
16:00 [SPEAKER_03]: I like the oven mitts. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought he was, I think he's cute and endearing. [SPEAKER_03]: I, I, I welcome him on my TV screen now. [SPEAKER_02]: I've come around. [SPEAKER_02]: If I had 30 people staying in my house and one of them was like an annoying hostage, I'd be like, all right, we're ditching the hostage, like he's the most annoying. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get rid of him. [SPEAKER_03]: but he's also making baked goods. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, but I don't have any idea if they're actually tasty. [SPEAKER_03]: Like if he's actually good at cooking, I think he is. [SPEAKER_03]: I have recently come upon a very good chocolate chip cookie recipe. [SPEAKER_03]: And I will say, I just want to tell everybody that I am the chocolate chip cookie girl at the moment.
16:41 [SPEAKER_02]: You're that girl. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Like as in you always have the chocolate chip cookies. [SPEAKER_03]: No, they're in them out to people like with the situation. [SPEAKER_03]: They're small batch small batch chocolate chip cookies. [SPEAKER_02]: How much is it how many just small batch what's in a small batch how many cookies. [SPEAKER_02]: Like eight. [SPEAKER_03]: That's not enough cookies. [SPEAKER_03]: It is, it's the perfect amount of cookies. [SPEAKER_03]: Small batch. [SPEAKER_03]: Are they big cookies? [SPEAKER_03]: How big are the cookies? [SPEAKER_03]: They're pretty, they're pretty sizable. [SPEAKER_03]: OK, that's not too bad if they're that big. [SPEAKER_02]: They're like the size of, I don't know what just help people that are listening only. [SPEAKER_02]: Like a, uh, width of like a bigger than a Coke can. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they are like if you look up like a daydread in the Excitelopedia, what a chocolate chip cookie should look like they look exactly like that.
17:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Beautiful. [SPEAKER_03]: They are beautiful. [SPEAKER_03]: They are beautiful. [SPEAKER_03]: They are beautiful. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: They are for you. [SPEAKER_03]: I love a chocolate chip cookie. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to come in to cookie season, baby. [SPEAKER_02]: So that must be handy. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, right. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so anyway, so he meets, he meets Andrew, that all happens. [SPEAKER_02]: And then they walk, they see in the backyard, we have all the potentials training. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is where we get a glimpse of just how many people be living in a Scooby-Central, and it's a potting shit on too many. [SPEAKER_03]: Don't like this. [SPEAKER_03]: They need more. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, let's call the architect that developed the underground, [SPEAKER_02]: And this should if and this show the initial I was like I'm in a railroad.
18:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, what are we talking? [SPEAKER_02]: No, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the World that I was like, what are we doing? [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know if we were making a historical reference or like a show roughly needs something we need more space. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, there's I would say there's probably 25 [SPEAKER_02]: I said 20, but I would also take 25, like there's a lot of them. [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't stop to count them because I didn't care that much, but there's a lot of them and Kennedy is like the elder, the elder potential hired her. [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, I think it's one of those things where she's just been around so much. [SPEAKER_02]: And I think also like she's kind of sleeping with one of the bosses. [SPEAKER_02]: So she gets like such an integral treat. [SPEAKER_02]: Neppotism. [SPEAKER_02]: It is neppotism. [SPEAKER_02]: Gusting.
18:51 [SPEAKER_02]: So she is in charge and she is treating us like a boot camp. [SPEAKER_02]: And she's doing everyone has like poses. [SPEAKER_02]: They're supposed to be doing and Chloe sucks. [SPEAKER_02]: And she fucks it up and immediately Kennedy is on her ass about it. [SPEAKER_02]: And is like dropping in me 20 and Chloe does the whole Dwayne what? [SPEAKER_03]: and she goes, push ups, bag it, yeah, um, um, if they, they have to, they better work because it's due or die literally. [SPEAKER_03]: So if you're a potential, then you have to get to work. [SPEAKER_03]: I do I think that Kennedy was too harsh. [SPEAKER_03]: I actually don't think that she was too harsh. [SPEAKER_03]: I really don't [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, I don't think maggot is that bad.
19:42 [SPEAKER_03]: No, I think it was the what got to Chloe was the pressure and the realization that like, [SPEAKER_03]: she has no choice, no agency, like where like Buffy has like dealt with this and like or thought about this like a billion times, but she was like I'm going to push through this. [SPEAKER_03]: Like the life that she's like has been thrust upon me and Chloe was like, I don't want to do this, which. [SPEAKER_03]: kind of respect because I wouldn't want to do it either. [SPEAKER_03]: But I don't think it was really Kennedy. [SPEAKER_03]: I know that like later on in the episode or earlier on, I don't know, I know that I blamed Kennedy. [SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't really Kennedy's fault.
20:22 [SPEAKER_03]: It is no. [SPEAKER_02]: No, I think it's the situation combined with the fact that you're living with like 25 other women combined with the first getting in your ear. [SPEAKER_02]: Like we do know that that did happen. [SPEAKER_02]: That like the first [SPEAKER_02]: came to Chloe and it was like, we did she present herself as anyone who knows. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but she said it. [SPEAKER_02]: The first said that's what they did was like, talks to Chloe and like basically got in her ear about everything. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like a carbon as simple as like you'll never win. [SPEAKER_03]: Like you're too weak. [SPEAKER_03]: Which she does will make me true. [SPEAKER_02]: True, but like my question is, okay, because we're not really blaming Kennedy. [SPEAKER_02]: We agree. [SPEAKER_02]: Magget and Lombard.
21:03 [SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, she's a little bit. [SPEAKER_02]: She's pushing the girls, but for good reason. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is like her death. [SPEAKER_02]: I would say, like, [SPEAKER_03]: never mind. [SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say a bunch of mean things about Miranda, but maybe I don't. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but should we at all be looking at Buffy as somewhat to blame because before all this even happens, Buffy has a dream, then the first layer, she like sees Chloe like crying in the corner of the hallway and then the first layer basically tackles her down the stairs and says [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, was this dream and indication of something?
21:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Was it like prophetic in some way? [SPEAKER_02]: Should she have gone to Chloe and been like, girl, I had a dream that you were crying. [SPEAKER_02]: Y'all good? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and yes, however, we also know that that is not buffy strong suit at all and also she's like so much else on her plate. [SPEAKER_02]: If I'm her, I'm like delegating that responsibly. [SPEAKER_03]: She's like, okay, yeah, this is like Willow's perfect for that role. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like Willow, like I think I'm, you know, I think that you need to [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe have Andrew bake for something special like a pancake with Chloe written in whipped cream or something You don't need a little smiley face.
22:30 [SPEAKER_03]: Don't think that Being glad for an upside down girl like pop like you've got this I know Andrew hands the him hands Chloe like a pancake and it has like it's like this the face is like Yeah, sad face and then he just turns it around and be like See that might work that actually might work [SPEAKER_03]: because it's cute and endearing and Andrew would do a good job. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_02]: But so anyway, so like, then we have, so that's all principal wood meeting all the potentials, then he meets Willow and they like talk about her experimenting with magic and all that's sort of. [SPEAKER_03]: We're back to this, we're back to the like lesbian experimental jokes again.
23:16 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yeah, but he of course is in like, we'll show me the vampire. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm obviously, he needs to know all about Spike. [SPEAKER_02]: And there's like a very tense interaction between Principal Wood and Spike. [SPEAKER_02]: Where he wants to hear about Spike's past, he wants to know about when he was soulless and like how easy it was for him to kill people and blah, blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_02]: It like the air is for red jade in this room when they are chatting. [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's very, very tense. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what do you think about principle would because I kind of feel like principle would the best word for him is just tense. [SPEAKER_03]: He is just tense and I don't think I'm like him as much as I thought he would.
23:57 [SPEAKER_03]: I would I think Okay, let me think about this like [SPEAKER_02]: I guess I have a difference. [SPEAKER_02]: I think differently about him when it comes to his personality versus like what he brings to the plot. [SPEAKER_02]: I guess. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think what he brings to the plot is very interesting in terms of his mom having been a slayer that being a wrinkle with spike and the fact that he is a good side. [SPEAKER_02]: He is on the good side, but like obviously there's tension and like issues between him and spike. [SPEAKER_02]: And then obviously Buffy's involved because Buffy and Spike and Buffy and Buffy. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, personality wise, he does sometimes have some like silly lines like I'm trying to think was it when I think it was when him and Buffy were in the school in the beginning, he was saying like how like Swav he is or like good looking he is or yeah, he has like these occasional lines that I'm in the funny I like that I just over all I just don't [SPEAKER_02]: But I like what his contributions are to the plot because of just who he is.
25:07 [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_02]: Sure sure sure sure sure sure. [SPEAKER_03]: I agree. [SPEAKER_03]: I agree with you. [SPEAKER_03]: I do really like the his mom is a slayer thing. [SPEAKER_03]: I just think that like I don't I think like he had some like weird lines and like weird behavior this episode because he's like so sus on spike. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, so, right, so then we have the whole thing with Chloe, like Dawn and Buffy discover Chloe has unfortunately ended her own life and immediately so we have like these screams so all the potentials come in and the first immediately shows up as her and it's like, oh, we talked all night, I did most of the talking but Chloe was a good listener and of course [SPEAKER_02]: And, uh, she base Earth to me.
26:02 [SPEAKER_02]: The first is like, the only reason why Chloe off to herself is because she knew what you're not getting. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm coming, you're going, all this. [SPEAKER_02]: It's almost over, TTFF. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, who said what does TTF and that was Buffy? [SPEAKER_02]: Buffy? [SPEAKER_02]: Buffy says that she's like, has apparently never watched one of the poo in her life. [SPEAKER_02]: Freaking boomer behavior from Buffy. [SPEAKER_02]: And then I forget the bus, the bus potential girl. [SPEAKER_02]: She from her back is like, it was, it's ticker. [SPEAKER_02]: She loves when you the poo. [SPEAKER_02]: Ew. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just such a weird thing for the first to be like TTFN!
26:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Hahaha, like what are we doing? [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_02]: So then, everyone's sad. [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone is depressed, everyone is crying in the living room. [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone is grieving the death of Chloe. [SPEAKER_02]: And buffeted aside, this is the best possible time to become a hard ass. [SPEAKER_03]: I, like I said earlier, I kind of loved it because I was just like, [SPEAKER_03]: I she was so harsh like this would make me cry like I would be anybody cry. [SPEAKER_03]: They're already crying. [SPEAKER_03]: So much as died. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, she was so mean, but also like in need to be said she [SPEAKER_03]: was like, you're all useless.
27:29 [SPEAKER_03]: You're all terrible. [SPEAKER_03]: We're all going to die. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, no, no, I wrote down some quotes because I feel I felt like the need to actually quote word for word some of the shit she says. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: She says, uh, Chloe wasn't idiot. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Chloe was stupid. [SPEAKER_02]: She was weak. [SPEAKER_02]: And anyone in a rush to be the next dead body, I bury it's easy. [SPEAKER_02]: Just think of Chloe and do what she did. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'll find room for you next to her and Annabelle. [SPEAKER_02]: What the fuck, Buffy, a girl just died? [SPEAKER_03]: What the absolute puppy? [SPEAKER_03]: Wasn't idiot, she was stupid. [SPEAKER_03]: She was stupid, I, so was Annabelle we've been saying.
28:09 [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wait, but yeah, that was dumb. [SPEAKER_03]: That was honestly, I gotta be, she, she's just spitting facts. [SPEAKER_02]: Then she says, I'm the slayer. [SPEAKER_02]: Bitch, we know you tell us literally all the time. [SPEAKER_02]: This is me, I'm living, this is not what she said. [SPEAKER_02]: The one with the power, obviously. [SPEAKER_02]: And the first has me using that power to dig our graves. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's when she throws this shovel down. [SPEAKER_02]: I've been carrying you all of you too far, too long, rides over your new here and you're wrong, because I use the power that I have. [SPEAKER_02]: Like a bitch, okay, like we all know you're this layer, like this isn't new any one enough of it.
28:53 [SPEAKER_03]: Get on your high horse. [SPEAKER_03]: We know food and burger, like a dictator, just saying. [SPEAKER_02]: Like this is this is dictator behavior. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and then she like yells it on you. [SPEAKER_02]: She like singles on you out. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, on you is just snarking in the corner. [SPEAKER_02]: What is it that you do, uh, you're here because you're scared and she like jokes about like bringing the sarcasm and then Zander says like he brings the sarcasm on ya is low key useless. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean it was I fear I disagree. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, well, number one, what has on you done in the last, like, since she became human, what has she done?
29:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, this very episode, she's the one who helps willow realize like, oh, we need like a conduit and blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you should underestimate [SPEAKER_02]: on your knowledge of demon stuff because she's up to a very long life and she knows shit about demon culture that like probably no one else in the room does know so he is a well of information she was able to make the connection with jiles to visit that big blob eye guy. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: She had the hook up and like, even if that wasn't true, let's pretend Agna doesn't have all the demon knowledge that she does have or like she helps with spells.
30:19 [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen that, remember the whole thing with bad willow and she's like reading this spell to keep everyone alive. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, even if she didn't have any of that. [SPEAKER_02]: Have we forgotten that onions are friend like is she not count as our friend anymore. [SPEAKER_03]: No, it treats her like they're actually fucking friends anymore She literally said this episode that they're not her friends. [SPEAKER_03]: She literally said that and that's why that's my garbage That's why Buffy was like what do we even like that's why she singled on you out because she was basically saying like you guys are not my friends There's like okay if you're not my friend them and like what are you doing here? [SPEAKER_03]: You know [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That was Ananya.
31:00 [SPEAKER_03]: Ananya got a little mouthy. [SPEAKER_03]: Just feel like they constantly treat Ananya like garbage and upset me. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes and but also like time and place Ananya like why and once again like we can't be being mouthy right now. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So, spike is about to leave because spike says, I'm not a woman, I don't need to listen to any of this, like I'm out. [SPEAKER_02]: And Buffy gets all sassy with them. [SPEAKER_02]: She's fine, take a cell phone that way if I need someone to get weepier, wailed on, I can call you. [SPEAKER_02]: And then she says he was a better fighter without a soul, which obviously we only that. [SPEAKER_02]: When I want the spike that is dangerous, despite the trying to kill me when we net, I'll find you.
31:42 [SPEAKER_02]: Like fucking A, Buffy. [SPEAKER_02]: That one was deserved, I guess, but still. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, so spikes, spikes out skis. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, they decided they're going to go through the emergency kit that principal what has never opened in his entire life. [SPEAKER_02]: And we, like, luckily, the hunt is a queen and took inventory of everything earlier in the day. [SPEAKER_02]: She was like, we got some trinkets, we got some due dads, we got this big old book that I have to translate, where she [SPEAKER_02]: And we also have this box that's locked that I can't get into. [SPEAKER_02]: But a buffie being buffie just immediately breaks that fucking lock right on off.
32:23 [SPEAKER_02]: Which I mean, like, principal blood could have gotten like bolt cutters if it was that easy. [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's like what are we doing? [SPEAKER_03]: It's not his to open. [SPEAKER_03]: It might be like the sword in the stone, like the only the worthy person could open it. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that's fair, actually. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll take that explanation. [SPEAKER_02]: They find, they pull out shadowcasters, which basically, they're like, you put on a little puppet show for you. [SPEAKER_02]: They'll tell you a little myth or two, you know? [SPEAKER_02]: It was, it was nice. [SPEAKER_02]: I love the show. [SPEAKER_02]: Love the story of the origin myth, the story of the first layer. [SPEAKER_02]: So I loved this. [SPEAKER_02]: First of all, I love when I get told the little story, little story time. [SPEAKER_02]: And secondly, I love that Dawn was the one who got to tell the story, because she knows how to translate.
33:05 [SPEAKER_03]: She apparently knows some very rough Samarion, but also once they kept going through the spell, it turned to English or Japanese. [SPEAKER_03]: the magically automatic, they translate that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think the pages did turn to English, but she, so she says, first there's the earth, then there came, excuse me, the demons, after the demons there came men, men found a girl, and the men took the girl to fight the demon, all demons. [SPEAKER_02]: They chained her to the earth. [SPEAKER_02]: And then, and then she, like, loses track of the translation, something about darkness, you cannot be shown, you cannot just watch, you must see, see for yourself, but only if you're willing to make the exchange.
33:50 [SPEAKER_02]: And Buffy, without consulting anybody, is like, I'm a hop in that fucking portal right now. [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, dooses, you're problem now, if I can't get back. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, gotta go, bye. [SPEAKER_02]: And so she jumps in, and of course, because there was the word Big The Exchange, Outcomes a giant ass fucking demon for everyone to fight. [SPEAKER_02]: The size... [SPEAKER_03]: of Texas that man. [SPEAKER_03]: He was very big, very powerful, very punchy and spike took upon himself to be like I will babysit the demon and beat him up because Buffy says I can't beat up anything anymore.
34:31 [SPEAKER_03]: So I'm going to do what I do best. [SPEAKER_03]: Go through the ceiling, which is a reference to [SPEAKER_03]: ceiling fuckers. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what it's called. [SPEAKER_03]: I forget what happened then, but they went through the ceiling. [SPEAKER_03]: And then he just feels like the rest of the fuckers. [SPEAKER_03]: He's been the rest of the episode just beating each other up. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, basically, um, essentially. [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, they. [SPEAKER_03]: So that's that. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like babysitting the demon. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I will keep track of the demon. [SPEAKER_03]: I will beat up the demon. [SPEAKER_03]: The demon will beat me up. [SPEAKER_03]: But now before everyone else gets like, [SPEAKER_02]: fucking hurt first like everybody gets a piece of action in this fight and everyone gets hurt spike thrown through the ceiling as you said and then the demon escapes and so spikes with the one who's like I'm gonna go get this fucking guy and we'll go finish out spike story like because it's pretty simple like well he leads up he leads and he goes the number one thing that I need to do right now is get my leather jacket yes and I here's the thing it makes sense [SPEAKER_03]: How?
35:33 [SPEAKER_03]: Because he's like, oh, I need to be bad in order to be bad. [SPEAKER_03]: And he's my leather jacket. [SPEAKER_02]: He lost his mojo. [SPEAKER_02]: He's mojo, lives in his leather jacket. [SPEAKER_02]: So he needed to, he needs to go put on that leather jacket and be the badass. [SPEAKER_02]: He knows he could be. [SPEAKER_02]: So he goes all the way back to school. [SPEAKER_02]: He gets his jacket. [SPEAKER_02]: Principal would must have been tailing him or working later, whatever the fuck. [SPEAKER_02]: Because he's like, who'd you get to a jacket? [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, he's like, New York City. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I love, and she's like, oh, Principal Wood was like, I need one solid piece of evidence to confirm that this man killed my mother, he's like [SPEAKER_02]: the jackets leather jacket confirmed also like but where did you purchase said jacket New York Nill Tim I got him.
36:23 [SPEAKER_02]: Yep 30 years ago, baby. [SPEAKER_02]: So spike now has this jacket gets his mojo back fights the demon ends him lights his match on the demon's horn [SPEAKER_02]: Incredible. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was pretty cool. [SPEAKER_02]: It was great. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, meanwhile, back at the Scooby compound, we have Kennedy basically poking out willow being like, do magic. [SPEAKER_02]: Do your magic. [SPEAKER_02]: Do magic. [SPEAKER_02]: Come on. [SPEAKER_02]: Do your magic. [SPEAKER_02]: Come on. [SPEAKER_02]: You could do it. [SPEAKER_02]: Do the magic can get buffy back. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like holy shit, Kennedy. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not that simple. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and they're like, there's a whole big argument if she's so superior, letter of finder own way back. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's, but like, I don't know, will it start talking about physics? [SPEAKER_02]: And I really just my eyes clasped over and I wasn't getting attention. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
37:04 [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Basically, I was just going to say, on you as the one who comes up with the conduit idea. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: She was basically, I mean, will it was saying, like, even, like, she's like, even if we should bring her back, I don't, I literally don't know how. [SPEAKER_03]: And you're right. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, [SPEAKER_03]: audio did help with the magic. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so they like they do some, they do some like studying or whatever and they realize like, oh, if we make a circle of sand, that's going to like help us make the portal, but will those like this could take days, like we should start now, it could take days. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to wait for a spike to come back with a demon, but we are going to have to exchange them. [SPEAKER_02]: But like in the process of Willow doing the magic, [SPEAKER_02]: She's like chanting her eyes go black, she screams.
37:46 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure she had her black hair again for like a hot second unless the lighting was weird. [SPEAKER_02]: And it turns out that in that whole process, her magic reached for like the second most powerful person in the room which turned out to be Kennedy. [SPEAKER_02]: And it totally scared the pants off of Kennedy and not in the sexy way. [SPEAKER_03]: She was very upset that Willow was essentially sucking out her essence her soul and her power and how her life force yeah even though Willow was like I am dangerous when I do the magic like I just want for born you and Kennedy wasn't a believer and then she got burned and then she was just like [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't know if I'm like into this and it's like, yeah, I told you, I told you, did you not believe me?
38:34 [SPEAKER_03]: I told you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, a little apologizes later on and they're kind of like, she's like, I'm gonna go to bed and I'm gonna sleep on it. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, but it was like a bit rocky. [SPEAKER_03]: So now it's like weird, even though Kennedy warned her like, like, if you are going to like stay out of the kitchen if you don't want to get burned, essentially. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's a fucking witch dude and you knew that she like nearly ended the entire fucking world like what? [SPEAKER_02]: What do you want from her? [SPEAKER_03]: Can anybody? [SPEAKER_03]: Is no longer my favorite potential. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, who's your favorite potential? [SPEAKER_03]: Amanda. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, is that the girl that was in Freaks and Geeks? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Cool. [SPEAKER_03]: I like her too. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: She's my favorite potential is, um, Dawn, because she should have been a potential.
39:16 [SPEAKER_03]: She is not, like, she does not qualify. [SPEAKER_03]: I know. [SPEAKER_03]: You cannot choose her. [SPEAKER_03]: See, we're dating to me, but it's fine. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, anyway, so, while all that's going on, Buffy pops up in that desert, we've seen multiple times. [SPEAKER_02]: And she has the conversation with some dudes. [SPEAKER_02]: And basically, they're like, we've been here since the beginning. [SPEAKER_02]: We're almost at the end. [SPEAKER_02]: You're the Helmouth's last guardian. [SPEAKER_02]: We cannot give you knowledge only power. [SPEAKER_02]: So they whack or with a stick, and then they chain her up. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, which was also forewarned. [SPEAKER_03]: We told he, they said that you will be chained.
39:58 [SPEAKER_02]: They did show the puppet show. [SPEAKER_02]: We see out on the puppet show. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: They say, where at the beginning, the source of your strength, the well of the slayers power, this is why we have brought you here. [SPEAKER_02]: Here in Lysher True is strength, the energy of the demon. [SPEAKER_02]: It's spirit. [SPEAKER_02]: It's heart. [SPEAKER_02]: This is how they created the slayer. [SPEAKER_02]: It must become one with you. [SPEAKER_02]: This will make you ready for the fight. [SPEAKER_02]: This is how it was. [SPEAKER_02]: Then, how it must be now. [SPEAKER_02]: This is all there is. [SPEAKER_02]: And so this smoke monster from Lost starts swirling the fuck around and tries to smash into [SPEAKER_03]: Because non-consensually, they have to be one. [SPEAKER_03]: Buffy was saying no, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but we was not about it.
40:39 [SPEAKER_02]: She's screaming, she's saying no. [SPEAKER_02]: And so she is like, you know what, bitches? [SPEAKER_02]: Did you like, yorks up her chains out the ground? [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, I can't fight this. [SPEAKER_02]: I know what that now, but you guys, [SPEAKER_02]: yet just men and you did this to her the first layer like you don't understand you violated her you made her kill for you because you were weak your pathetic and you not nothing to show me so she defeats like two of the three dudes [SPEAKER_02]: And then she goes to the last guy and he says like and he's like, okay, I'm going to show you so he like puts his hand or head. [SPEAKER_02]: No, she says tell me something I don't know.
41:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he goes. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he goes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, then he's like bet. [SPEAKER_02]: yeah and he does and we find out that when she when he did that she got it before she was returned to the living room she had a vision of like what I thought looked like just a giant battleground of demons and like it looked like maybe they're in the Hellmouth or like about to exit the Hellmouth or something [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So, you know how, like, that one Grand Pappy VAMS? [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they were all Grand Pappy. [SPEAKER_03]: They were like a billion Grand Pappy VAMS. [SPEAKER_03]: And basically, it's just like, you know, how hard it was to defeat one of those.
42:03 [SPEAKER_03]: Almost died. [SPEAKER_03]: There's billions. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, it's [SPEAKER_02]: and it's even worse because so then she gets back right and like she's in the living room whatever she talks she's telling willow this she's telling willow about the vision and she's like well i could have had more power but i turned it down because i didn't want like a piece of demon and i wanted to be human which is last time a piece of demon was trying to be inside of her she also said no and wasn't listening to so [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying, like, I can't get it. [SPEAKER_02]: She, unlike, this is so fascinating. [SPEAKER_02]: So now, now, how do you feel about this new Lord drop? [SPEAKER_02]: Where we find out, the way that Slayer, the first ever Slayer was created, was by taking a piece of the demon soul and shumming it inside of his layer to give her power.
42:53 [SPEAKER_03]: I find it interesting, but also, I don't like totally understand, [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I think I can explain it. [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no, like I can finish my sentence. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, I don't really understand like [SPEAKER_03]: Buffy's gripe with having parvode deep. [SPEAKER_03]: Like she needs the power. [SPEAKER_03]: I guess she just wants to be human, but also like Cordelia has parvode demon inside of her. [SPEAKER_03]: And I know like a lot of your things are happening with Cordelia, but also like I can say like we need all the resources that we can get. [SPEAKER_03]: And if it wasn't for the first layer, happy metal part of the demon, then demons would be taking over the world.
43:37 [SPEAKER_03]: A had to have been done. [SPEAKER_03]: Like they're had to, yes, like the part of it [SPEAKER_03]: You know, like it was a girl that got chained to the earth, like she didn't have like the choice. [SPEAKER_03]: None of these girls have the choice, but the alternative is that like no one in this galaxy is going to volunteer for this. [SPEAKER_03]: So, but then the alternative is that nobody can fight the demons and the entire world is just taken over by demons and nobody survives it. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's like [SPEAKER_03]: like we like even the even though the person that's chosen to be the slayer has the raw steel and the galaxy like we need them or else we will all we will all die.
44:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think okay multiple things number one I do think this fits with who [SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't like that it's not her choice. [SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't like that she's being chained up and made to do something she doesn't want to do. [SPEAKER_02]: And I do think something we've heard a lot about from Buffy in terms of, it's just like the humaneness, right? [SPEAKER_02]: The humanity and not wanting to lose her humanity. [SPEAKER_02]: I think part of it could go back to like the angel of it all in the spike of it all in like part demon, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Like we saw her freak out when she realized spike could hit her and wondering when she goes to Tara, has that whole conversation about like, [SPEAKER_02]: Why she could be hit if she's human right like I think being human is part of you buffy isn't I understand her not wanting To take on a part of something she hates and she's actively fighting against and Also the consent [SPEAKER_02]: aspect of it.
45:16 [SPEAKER_02]: I think is like a big thing for her. [SPEAKER_02]: Like the fact that the first layer wasn't given a choice and was literally chained up and like made to be a slayer without getting the opportunity to say no I think is like a big problem for her and it's just like weird version of generational trauma But the way I looked at like the actual not science because it's not so [SPEAKER_02]: Like, the way I looked at how this works, I was like, oh, my God, it's a vaccine. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's literally, I'm gonna take some of the demon anti-bodies. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna put them in you. [SPEAKER_02]: And then it's gonna make you stronger. [SPEAKER_02]: And like, more immune to their powers. [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh, it's like a flu vaccine perfect.
45:58 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was like the way in my head, I can make the science of it make sense. [SPEAKER_02]: Which is that. [SPEAKER_02]: Take a piece of the demon. [SPEAKER_03]: The extracts. [SPEAKER_03]: However, we, [SPEAKER_03]: you and I are pro-vaccine, so maybe you're saying that maybe she just needs to do this. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I mean, they're fucked. [SPEAKER_03]: It's what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, certainly. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of grandpapies. [SPEAKER_03]: They are so fucked. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's not even that. [SPEAKER_03]: It's that like, they are going to keep regenerating. [SPEAKER_03]: There's going to be endless. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, what is there even to be done? [SPEAKER_03]: Like landbuffy? [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's impossible. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: exactly what this would do for Buffy as well.
46:39 [SPEAKER_02]: Like is it gonna just make her even stronger? [SPEAKER_02]: Like what do they mean? [SPEAKER_02]: Like what does this exactly, excuse me, exactly do to Buffy and her powers? [SPEAKER_02]: It was really interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: Like I thought the lore stuff was pretty fascinating. [SPEAKER_02]: Getting to learn exactly how the first layer was even like created by school. [SPEAKER_03]: Except for that, like I'm, that is very cool. [SPEAKER_03]: I am still more interested in how, [SPEAKER_03]: these people are selected and like how ultimately like how we're all these potential selected and how is ultimately the slayer selected. [SPEAKER_03]: Like that's once I find that out I feel like I will have so much satisfaction.
47:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know that's very fair. [SPEAKER_02]: I think also because it's more like localized to our like interests above and our worlds. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I agree with you, um, but yeah, and like, basically, well, it's like all we'll find another way and it's like, girl. [SPEAKER_02]: Wow. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm exactly how I just, I mean, I was able to find out in like five or seven episodes, but yeah, I, I, I just want to give up. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sleepy. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, [SPEAKER_03]: like I don't want to fight any more. [SPEAKER_02]: Grandpa, I don't want to fight any more. [SPEAKER_02]: Sit down to hell. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
48:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I do think we get a little hint of like maybe a piece that will help in our angel episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Like I will say. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh, she's not going to do shit. [SPEAKER_03]: A lull cha cha. [SPEAKER_03]: She's going to go to, okay, we can talk about it, but she's not going to do shit. [SPEAKER_03]: She's going to go to Sunnydale, get killed, and then the next slayer's going to get selected is what's going to happen. [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely dare you. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, let's talk a little bit about Courtney's corner or Vs season four episode 15 of Angel. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like, well, well, let's talk about the relevance to Buffy first, where we end the episode with, like, [SPEAKER_02]: Faith going with Willow back to Sunnydale. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I loved Willow coming into this episode and helping I felt like it was so interesting seeing the Willow character being written by different people because she seemed like so much more of an adult I just yeah, it was interesting but also like I like that Willow.
48:57 [SPEAKER_03]: I like that version of Willow because she seems so competent [SPEAKER_02]: Um, her and Fred together I thought were like such a fun interest. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I, I liked Willow coming in and like saving the day. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was interesting that like something like how to get Angel to get his soul back, which was like so puzzling for her. [SPEAKER_03]: For all of them like five seasons ago and they were able to just like fix it And I thought that it was interesting how she was just like, well, we don't need the jar We just need the jar to break so forever the jar may be which is so interesting and smart too So I really I really liked that That whole aspect and I thought yeah like it makes a lot sense like to have [SPEAKER_03]: Willow come in to bridge the gap to bring faith back to Sunnydale.
49:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a really good way to like fix the Angelus problem because she did that once before, but also then be able to take faith back to Buffy, which according to Todd's library and he did let us know that like this episode of Angel, aired the same week as episode 17 of Buffy, so we're like a little off-kilter in terms of our timelines. [SPEAKER_02]: it's so dumb but like whatever we know now that faith is going to show up on Buffy and that it's because of Willow and I I thought it was a very nice like Dovetail between the two shows to like the problems on both sides of them [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, like you said, Willow shows up because Fred contacts her basically they're like, well, we need the jar that has the soul in it, but the jar is like anti magic, so they're like trying to figure out and they don't know where it is and they can't locate it because it's anti magic and they can't use locator spell.
50:45 [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to say maybe going forward anything that's missing. [SPEAKER_03]: We need a full hotel sweep like [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go into Conor's room. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go into courties room. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, like a true, like, this is, like, like college dorm room, like R.A. checks, like we've got to make sure, but yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So the chart was just courties were my whole entire dime. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and she's been like she does like some trickery and tries to like basically, oh, I'm going to summon a big scary monster head and speak through it and like speak with his like super deep voice and try to basically like fight against Willows magic, which does work for a while until Connor tries to come into room and she loses concentration on her spell and the [SPEAKER_03]: this should so funny.
51:46 [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, this is a comedy. [SPEAKER_03]: If this is a comedy, then like, instead, if we've been taking it so seriously, if we just leaned into the bit the entire time, this might be art, this show. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, actual pure masterpiece because actually some of the cordelia lines are like the such a soap opera, the dialogue hilarious, so funny, um, the fact that she'd like to ruin a knife at the door like I died, I full on died when that happened just like we literally have a shot of her holding the knife under the bed. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, it was really hoping that Willow was going to like pop her head back in the room and be like, did you just hit the, did you knock on the door or something like, what was that, you know what I mean?
52:32 [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's so slapsticky at times. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, so, uh, string, Connor and Cordelia, their lines. [SPEAKER_03]: If I hear Cordelia say we're special to Connor one more time, such a special boy Connor. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to take the knife that Cordelia was hiding underneath her pillow and kill myself. [SPEAKER_02]: It's so funny. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, Connor is so dumb. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, she basically, like, he's like, oh, she's just a hormonal pregnant person. [SPEAKER_02]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_02]: And she's literally taking lamps and smashing them on his head. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, oh, it's fine. [SPEAKER_02]: No big deal.
53:13 [SPEAKER_03]: It's like this is saying yeah like I smashed Adam the head all the time with lamps when I was pregnant. [SPEAKER_03]: She's just our model. [SPEAKER_02]: How many lamps did you have to buy since um at least four at least four lamps. [SPEAKER_02]: And she convinces Connor that like, oh, well, like, and jealous needs to die in order to protect our little family. [SPEAKER_02]: And so Connor then goes to try to kill and jealous who will back up a bit now because [SPEAKER_02]: we learn at when we saw the end of the last episode and jealous bites faith. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, she had just injected herself with this like drug called orfias called orfias and it causes her to like [SPEAKER_02]: going to a coma and it also infects him.
54:03 [SPEAKER_02]: So they kind of have like a dream hallucination flashback together. [SPEAKER_03]: They're co-dying co-dreaming. [SPEAKER_03]: They basically reverse Christmas carol this shit and instead of visiting all the bad things that you've done, he visits, christmas he, the ghost of christmas good. [SPEAKER_03]: We go through time about all the good deeds that Angel did to variety of very bad wigs to torture and jealous and we start off in the 20s with angel saving a puppy on the streets of Manhattan incredible 10 at a 10 in the dialogue is so like [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to Google 1920 slang and just we're going to put in every buzzword, every buzzword that we could possibly do like that and it was.
54:59 [SPEAKER_03]: It was so, it was so bad. [SPEAKER_03]: It was just so bad. [SPEAKER_02]: I get angel rescuing a puppy, then we get angel in a diner and like this man comes in, shoots the diner guy and angel is like doesn't know whether to call for help, but he really wants like drink the guy's blood and he feeds and this has been like [SPEAKER_02]: Apparently that was the final straw for Angel back in the day because that's when he starts like being Ali Rat Angel and just drinking rap blood for a long time. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the depression like we where we met him and then that like little squeaky guy met up with him and he's just like, hey, like let's go to LA.
55:46 [SPEAKER_03]: Like that's kind of where we found Angel for. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And so we like basically Angel Angel and jealous and faith are like [SPEAKER_02]: arguing and then like the past version of Angel like addresses them like he's like hey it's me I'm angel on here. [SPEAKER_03]: Hello I'm here. [SPEAKER_03]: This is my role now I'm going to get you both the back and I'm going to fight you and jealous so we have Angel and Angelus in this dream maybe in the past [SPEAKER_03]: the world save faiths life plus angel is trying to talk faith in to be like worth as life is worth living for like five she's dying and then Lauren is like I love how he comes out he's like [SPEAKER_03]: she's she's going to die like we're going to lose her.
56:48 [SPEAKER_03]: It's happening. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I'm learned. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I didn't later on. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, it's a miracle. [SPEAKER_03]: She survived. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's so sweet though. [SPEAKER_02]: I love that he's just like mother hen at the hotel. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like very cute. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but yes, so like basically, uh, faith disappears from the flashback hallucination situation and she wakes up and immediately is like fucking Connor and she goes down and starts fighting Connor because he's about to kill angel slash and jealous and just at the same time that's when like the spell works because Jarvis broke in. [SPEAKER_03]: Angel, like, hugs him from the, uh, the cell. [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, it's okay, Connor. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm back. [SPEAKER_03]: It's me daddy.
57:29 [SPEAKER_03]: It's daddy. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm here. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, it's so ridiculous. [SPEAKER_03]: I might, I also love the line of like, and jealous being like, [SPEAKER_03]: to faith. [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, these are my flashbacks. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you're doing here and they like keep continuously like are running through each other like it's like they're just like because they're not corporeal Yeah, and then like the episode ends were like okay, so we have faith and and willow leafing. [SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna go to sunny D.L. [SPEAKER_02]: and Cordy comes down the stairs in her best hot topic attire. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, guess what bitches? [SPEAKER_02]: The worst is yet to come. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pregnant.
58:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure you're going to be a grand-pappy. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, eight months pregnant. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's stupid. [SPEAKER_03]: It's literally so funny. [SPEAKER_03]: Trashiest. [SPEAKER_03]: shit, I've ever seen in my life. [SPEAKER_03]: She's like, guess what, I've been pregnant in my room this whole time. [SPEAKER_03]: Nobody checked on me once because Connor said that I didn't want to get us and know every nobody, nobody fact checked, you know? [SPEAKER_03]: Like nobody was like, hmm, maybe I will. [SPEAKER_03]: Is it like, just make sure you're not like, project it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're just trusting Cordelia's life in the hands of fucking Connor, like a 16 year old 17 18 who knows, but it's 18 just to make it legal, I think.
58:53 [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, bro. [SPEAKER_03]: It is just so. [SPEAKER_02]: It's so disturbing, it's so funny. [SPEAKER_02]: Like I couldn't believe she was in all black. [SPEAKER_02]: It really sent me with like the cutouts. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but the cutouts rubbing her very pregnant stomach, like so silly. [SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to see what happens next because Cordelia is both like, as evil coldier, like whatever the fuck's going on with that. [SPEAKER_03]: I love eating special who still do not at any point in time. [SPEAKER_03]: Give us the audience any clue what's happening. [SPEAKER_03]: No, like, you know, it's one thing for obviously the characters don't know, but like when to be nice if like they kind of give us any idea why.
59:36 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Like you'll know when we want you to fucking know. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, when we figure out why we haven't quite figured out why. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, let you know when we do check back in in four episodes and then we'll tell you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: I like, I feel like we're only a few episodes away from Cordy actually giving birth, probably. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, I don't listen, you had to watch a birth scene while you were pregnant. [SPEAKER_02]: And you were blessed enough to have it be darla dusting herself in a TV, a cleaning show up on the pavement. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is what I did. [SPEAKER_03]: And I honestly, like I feel like maybe you should do it the same. [SPEAKER_03]: I said, hey, look, I think I messaged Tom and Todd.
1:00:18 [SPEAKER_03]: I said, look guys, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm like, I'm a delicate flower. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have to watch this show. [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have to. [SPEAKER_03]: Can you please know if like I need a trigger warning? [SPEAKER_03]: Like can you let me know if like the baby dies during childbirth? [SPEAKER_03]: Like if the baby doesn't survive this, if there's like, [SPEAKER_03]: I, I was like very specific questions like I just need to know like tell me I don't care if it's a spoiler like I need to know for like my own thing and they're like no, like the baby itself is fine and I needed that you know because once again I don't need to be triggered like I was like a couple months from giving birth or whatever Yeah, as I'm I now so crazy timing and then yes, yes, God [SPEAKER_03]: I might have asked about Darla.
1:01:05 [SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember. [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like you may be new. [SPEAKER_02]: She wasn't gonna make it, but I don't think you knew. [SPEAKER_03]: I definitely didn't know how. [SPEAKER_03]: I definitely didn't know. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just because like once again, you're just like, if I'm going, yeah, I'm literally going to go into chat, like give me a little something. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like you need to do the same for you just so that you can or maybe you don't feel triggered. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: Let me tell you something very funny. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm a crazy person. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually a massacist in disguise. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so if anybody has seen the show yellow jacket, you'll know I absolutely adore it. [SPEAKER_02]: And there's a new season coming up at the end of this month. [SPEAKER_02]: And I will and I were like we have to rewatch.
1:01:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Now, I know there is a very traumatic birth scene in the show. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm very much aware. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I've seen the show. [SPEAKER_02]: I know it's coming. [SPEAKER_02]: I watched it still. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I was like, oh, but I also said I was fine because it is so removed from reality. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like if I was going to watch [SPEAKER_02]: a really awful birth scene like on Grey's Anatomy where it's like it's happening in a hospital and they have all the technology at their hands and like bad shit happens totally different story than like what happened on yellow jacket slash what may happen on Angel because it's just so like we're not in the normal world right now no no no no but I was gifted the [SPEAKER_03]: I think that there was a convertible involves, and she's like, stake me just and naked baby Connor on the ground.
1:02:45 [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, clean is a whistleman. [SPEAKER_02]: She's so clean. [SPEAKER_02]: I know the first story of all time. [SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm gonna get some off-lash shit. [SPEAKER_02]: I just know whatever this fucking crazy S special baby is is gonna be clawing its way out of Cordelia's womb like hell bent on destruction Like I'm not gonna get a nice clean like steak and baby shows up clean on pavement for the story And that's fine. [SPEAKER_02]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, it was so funny [SPEAKER_02]: Remember how it was supposed to be a little poll and we like everyone was like, Darla died and we're like, but did you see the scene? [SPEAKER_02]: Like it was so funny.
1:03:26 [SPEAKER_03]: That's what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_03]: I think the angel might be a comedy and I think that we've been watching it wrong the whole time. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: My bad. [SPEAKER_03]: My bad. [SPEAKER_03]: I did not know. [SPEAKER_02]: I did not know. [SPEAKER_02]: This should be very funny. [SPEAKER_02]: But Owen Tom Palmer did want us to make some predictions about like the baby itself and everything. [SPEAKER_02]: And I basically was like, this baby is going to be a blonde because I want Angel to then have to fall in love with his granddaughter. [SPEAKER_03]: Disgusting remote thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Do we roast that like so I had said who did I guess? [SPEAKER_02]: I guess For like casting choices. [SPEAKER_02]: I was like well, okay.
1:04:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if they age like Connor did if we like do a zoom in I was like there could be Dakota or L fanning I had Kate wins let or Hayden Penitya are as my like ridiculous choices For like some blondes that could show up But I really liked your your guesses if who you thought it could be [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I was just thinking of like, of the time. [SPEAKER_03]: So I think I said, like, Kirsten Dunst, Cape Osworth, which is such a deep cut. [SPEAKER_03]: And then I was like, oh, we, like, maybe it's people that we know, like Katie Holmes or Michelle Williams. [SPEAKER_03]: I specifically love the Michelle Williams pick. [SPEAKER_03]: I think that would be so fun.
1:04:47 [SPEAKER_03]: That was pretty good pick, I feel. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so we'll have the way in C. And if they end up aging her up, if she ages super fast because she's special or like if she just comes out and it don't, who the fuck knows? [SPEAKER_02]: Like they show anything in the fossil home. [SPEAKER_02]: It comes out of her face. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's a doll. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god and like like you said anything as possible. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's angel baby, but yeah, that's kind of where we leave the episode off. [SPEAKER_02]: And like you said, I think if you view this show through the lens of it being a comedy, like it really is silly and ridiculous at times. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, and I'm sorry to the people that want us to get seriously. [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know that I have that at any time. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I have a question. [SPEAKER_02]: Is it supposed to be taken seriously? [SPEAKER_02]: Or I think at the beginning it thought it was serious, because remember, it treated it like it was Batman.
1:05:28 [SPEAKER_02]: Like it really, they were like, this is Batman. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the first season, horrible disgusting, revolting. [SPEAKER_02]: I did like the hedgehog guy, though. [SPEAKER_02]: I missed him sometimes. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, I jog. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know what his name was. [SPEAKER_03]: I think, but like I think like, remember when we went to Lawrence like home town? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: I think about that episode all the time. [SPEAKER_03]: That was a good episode. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I thought about that episode like last week. [SPEAKER_03]: Just wow. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's impressive, actually. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's our courty's corner. [SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to hear the episode titles for next week? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we have Buffy Season 7 Episode 16 Storyteller.
1:06:12 [SPEAKER_02]: And Buffy Season, RCB, Angel Season 4 Episode 16 Players. [SPEAKER_03]: I think next episode, we're going to have some like a like a fuckery episode with, uh, or, oh, for Angel. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I got my ears. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So that will be our elders. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, like maybe more, uh, as past layer stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I was thinking too. [SPEAKER_02]: I was thinking like more of the puppet shows or something. [SPEAKER_03]: puppet shows. [SPEAKER_03]: We look deeper in the box and there's more slides. [SPEAKER_02]: More puppets. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and also just an FYI to the people we have started doing some pre-recording.
1:06:53 [SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to send in your feedback, just make sure you label it appropriately in your email, [SPEAKER_02]: And we'll get to it. [SPEAKER_02]: Anything else, Sarah? [SPEAKER_02]: Anything else you want to tell the people? [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, I don't think so. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I've been watching a show called Heart of Dixie. [SPEAKER_02]: I highly recommend it if... [SPEAKER_02]: If people like the small town vibes of Gilmore Girls with like the Zayney side characters and stuff, I would say give heart a Dixie a try. [SPEAKER_02]: It actually is better than I thought it was going to be. [SPEAKER_02]: And I, um, I've been enjoying it. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm in season three now. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's more seasons total. [SPEAKER_02]: I've been really enjoying it. [SPEAKER_03]: Zoom and right through.
1:07:33 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, I throw it on the background. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's a good bedtime show. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I like to call it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like light fun and it has the guy from Friday night lights in it. [SPEAKER_02]: The guy that played the guy that was in the wheelchair. [SPEAKER_02]: I've read his name, but that guy, he's in it. [SPEAKER_02]: And what's her face from the O.C. [SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it? [SPEAKER_02]: Rachel Wilson, I think. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's everything. [SPEAKER_02]: So we'll be back next week with some more about the until then everyone here and if the lesson. [SPEAKER_01]: She'll die, she'll die
